During 1999, there were approximately 108 million Americans who were obese and overweight. At present, obesity is still a serious dilemma and is expected to attain epidemic heights by 2020. A method to avoid this incident is by helping people become knowledgeable of obesity and overweight risks.

Some of the illnesses that you might acquire by being overweight are:

· Heart disease

· Diabetes

· Stroke

· Cancer

· Hypertension

· Arthritis

Losing weight lessens the chances of obtaining these illnesses. Quick weight loss techniques, which have become extremely popular these days does not supply enduring results. Most of the time, dieting techniques which count in dietary foods, drinks, pills or supplement are unhelpful. If these are effective, the results are not lasting. It is recommended to stick to weight loss options which supply healthy and lifetime outcomes. You must establish sensible goals and not anticipate quick weight loss in a short period of time.

1. Do not deprive yourself of eating. The healthier method to shed those pounds is to avoid dieting. 2. Breakfast is the most significant meal of your day. Start your day by eating a healthy meal during the morning to perk up your metabolism. The food you eat in the morning will burn fat for the entire day.

3. Consume light and healthy meals. 5 light servings of snacks a day is preferred rather than having 3 heavy meals. Consuming 5 light meals during the day will avoid over-eating. This will also speed up your metabolism to increase the number of burned calories.

4. Establish a plan on how much weight to shed. Keep your objectives realistic. It is definitely impossible to shed 40 pounds in just 2 weeks. Keep a mindset that you prefer a healthy lifestyle all through your life. After you have decided on which weight loss program to pursue, dedicate to it and ensure that you will abide by it.

5. Drink plenty of water daily. The body needs enough water to keep the cells healthy and well hydrated. This will also help in burning unwanted fats.

6. Back away from sugary foods. Settle on fruits and vegetables and take minimal amounts of bread, pasta and rice for carbohydrates, then lean meat for protein. You can splurge on sugary foods once in a while but not regularly.

7. Fat is not the reason for becoming overweight. This is necessary to maintain the proper weight level of the body. Omega 3 fatty acids are good sources of fat.
