Motivation could be positive reinforcement, compliments, salary-based incentives, or any number of things. Brent Colbert of Blythe is a firm believer in positively reinforcing good behavior. (3) Establish Clear Lines of Communication Brent Colbert of Blythe is good at making sure his employees are always able to contact him. He makes a timely effort to respond to every phone call or email whenever possible. Making yourself easily accessible as a manager goes a long way in encouraging honest communication. This doesn’t mean not acknowledging when a mistake is made, but it means not holding it over their head indefinitely.
