Since staff leasing arrangements are under contract and are usually for long-term (especially for SMB clients who can’t afford the overhead costs or handle the additional workload of hiring employees of their own), service providers are able to estimate if they can fulfill the demands of the clients or if they need to expand their workforce. It is the company’s job to look for additional employees if needed by its clients. Sometimes clients would insist on screening the employees who will be assigned to their account. These interviews are usually conducted via video conferencing if the clients are from abroad. Some of them would personally visit the staff leasing headquarters and meet the employees selected to work for them. Providing Logistics and Benefits for Employees Part of what clients pay staff leasing companies goes to expenses for office logistics. Aside from paying the salary of the leased staff, clients also pay the fees needed for the upkeep of the headquarters and its management. They are still able to save money though because the total amount they pay each month is still generally lower than what they would spend for if they hire in-house employees and provide their workspace. It is the responsibility of the service providers to ensure that leased employees have the equipment and office space they need to do get their jobs done. They also shoulder the overhead costs, provide benefits and insurance for the employees, and handle all related human resources matters. Mediation and Supervision There will be supervisors who will oversee each project or work order. It is their job to keep employees on their toes, make sure quotas and work outputs are accomplished on the set dates, evaluate work quality, and basically keep things running smoothly on their end. The supervisors and project managers are the ones who communicate with the clients, organize their demands into workloads, and relay the work orders to the leased employees. As the middlemen in this set-up, it’s obvious that the service providers need to have a solid management in order to perform their numerous tasks effectively. Staff leasing companies have plenty of responsibilities not only to their clients, but also to the employees.
