Traditional four-year colleges are not right for everyone. Many high school graduates have no desire to attend a university right out of school because of lack of interest, lack of money, and many other reasons. For students who want to continue their education but who aren’t interested in a four-year school, there are many other options out there. Community colleges are the most popular choice for high school graduates who want to continue their education. Community colleges allow students to receive their Associate’s degree after two years of schooling, which gets all of the prerequisites for a university out of the way. It’s a cheaper alternative to doing the prerequisites at a university, and gives the student a longer time to think about their future career possibilities. The other option that graduates have is to attend a trade school. If a student already knows what career he or she would like to go into, that student can jump directly into hands-on training by attending a trade or vocational school. There are numerous types of trade schools available to eager students, including a beauty school in Louisiana, a dental assisting school Southern California, or an automotive school in Wyoming. The most popular types of trade schools out there are beauty schools, health care schools, and technology schools. Students can typically earn a degree in any of these fields within 2 years or less, making it a great option for students who are enthusiastic about starting their career. Additionally, students who attend trade schools never have to take college prerequisites or courses that do not pertain to their particular career field.
