327. How to Sell Your Product or Service Without Making Your Readers Feel Like They're Being Sold To
December 07, 2020
I used to be subscribed to the Morning Brew newsletter.
If you’re not familiar with them, they send daily emails where they provide you the latest news in a very entertaining way.
Their headlines are straightforward (And sometimes clever).
And they give the main gist of the news in just a few sentences, one paragraph at max.
What’s even more impressive is how well they create their sponsored ads to get you to read them.
They keep the formatting of the ads consistent with the rest of their newsletter. As for the text, the writing style and tone is also consistent. ... (read more)

328. What colors to wear on camera?
December 05, 2020
Color has a very important place in the life of a human being because the human mind is very fickle, the human mind is a lot of things in this world that attract. When we think about all these things very seriously, we realize that our mind needs this color very much, now if we look at the example of daily life, we will understand that when we buy any item, we mainly choose its color. Why would you do that because you have a fascination with that color and a pure feeling that comes out of it that pleases your mind? You don't get anything beyond that, if you think seriously about life, you will u... 329. Recycling Is Useless?
December 03, 2020
“Those who tell the stories rule society.” — Plato
Back in September, I read a rather upsetting article.
Usually, I don’t get upset (Or emotional in general) when it comes to reading news articles. Maybe some laughter here and here.
But this particular one hit me a little bit.
The article is titled,
“How Big Oil Misled the Public Into Believing Plastic Would Be Recycled.”
A few main points from the article:
• It costs more to recycle plastic than to just bury it. Plus they degrade fast. So if they were to recycle, it can only be done once or twice before th... (read more)

330. Is Helping People a "Fruitless Mission?"
December 02, 2020
I was listening to a business interview between two copywriters. One of them (Alec) is an email specialist and the other one (Justin) specializes in writing copy for cold traffic conversion.
At one point, they were talking about when they first met.
Long story short, Alec approached Justin and expressed interest in learning how to make money online.
After that, Justin explained that he normally doesn’t try to help people. From his experience, the people he tried to help in the past ended up never listening to his advice, even though they said they claimed to be fully committed. ... (read more)

331. My Theory Behind the Mindset of Serial Low-rating Reviewers
December 01, 2020
My brother showed me a screenshot of one of his friend’s Facebook feed, and I saw that Amazon advertised my How to Become an Email Titan book.
No complaints from me. Why wouldn’t I want free advertising?
Then he decided to check up on my Amazon listing, and told me something interesting.
I received my first star rating from an anonymous person.
It was…
*Drum roll*
Two stars!
So what are my personal thoughts on this?
Personally, I couldn’t care less. I said this before and I’ll say it again. I don’t trust people’s reviews anymore mainly because they don’t... (read more)

332. A Short Lesson About the Weather Industry
November 30, 2020
I once picked up and read a book called The Fifth Risk by Michael Lewis.
It basically gives you an insider on what went on during the transition of Trump’s presidency. Specifically, it zooms in on three government agencies:
The Department of Energy, Agriculture, and Commerce.
Did I want to read this simply for pleasure?
No, it was a book I was kind of forced to read, but it was still interesting nonetheless.
One of the more memorable parts of the book was the final chapter where it focused on the Department of Commerce.
It mainly talked about the weather industry,... (read more)

333. My Personal Take on the Beauty Standard
November 27, 2020
I feel bad for the social media addicts who compare themselves to the people they see online.
All the glamorous things they see online are not what they seem.
They see someone who looks nice and thin? It’s all in the angles, or photoshop, or filters.
Or they see celebrities who are on a whole different level of beautiful? You can thank plastic surgery for that.
Of course, this isn’t true for all celebrities. But most of the ones we see online or in the media have gone through some degree of artificial change.
No judgment from me, they can do whatever they want to their... (read more)

334. Do You Know What Grinds My Gears?
November 26, 2020
I’ll be blunt here.
I don’t like how people seem to skip Thanksgiving and go straight to celebrating Christmas.
As soon as November comes, stores start bringing out their Christmas merchandise, and people start putting up their lights and trees.
Even worse,
They don’t take down their decorations until way past Christmas. The longest record goes to one of my former neighbors, who didn’t take down their lights until July.
Now I understand from a business standpoint that Christmas is a heavily commercialized holiday, and they want to take full advantage of it.
But Th... (read more)

336. This Man Teaches You How to Pickpocket
November 25, 2020
I once watched a TED Talk by Apollo Robbins, who describes himself as…
“The World’s Leading Expert on Pickpockets.”
Funnily enough, his appearance reminds me a lot of Seth MacFarlane.
But that’s besides the point.
In the video, he talked about how he can pickpocket somebody’s watch, wallet, or phone by manipulating their attention.
He even demonstrated this by picking a victi-
I mean, volunteer from the audience.
At first, it seemed like he was performing an illusion with a poker chip. But while all that’s happening, he pickpocketed the volunteer’s watch, cas... (read more)

337. Want to Watch Paint Dry in Real Time?
November 24, 2020
It’s amazing what you can find on the Internet these days.
They’re either extremely impressive or extremely ridiculous. There’s just no in-between.
For examples,
One of my favorite things to watch are videos where people make art in the most creative ways.
Those videos are always impressive.
On the other hand, one of the more ridiculous videos I came across is a 10 hour video of watching paint dry.
And it wasn’t like it wasn’t a popular video. It had close to one million views.
Did people watch it all the way through?
Well, that I highly doubt.

339. Subtle Jokes Hidden Throughout Spongebob and Other Childhood Shows and Movies
November 23, 2020
Once in a while, I like to write about Spongebob.
In case you haven’t noticed yet or if you’re my articles for the first time, I love Spongebob.
It’s one of my favorite childhood shows.
And this is going to be another one of these articles.
One of my favorite episodes of all-time from that show is where Spongebob gets his hands on Mermaidman’s belt, similar to Batman’s utility belt. One of the things that the belt can do is shrink things, and people too.
Spongebob shrinks his neighbor Squidward, but doesn’t know how to unshrink him. So he goes to his “wise” friend, Pat... (read more)

341. Why TV Show - Conflict = Bad
November 14, 2020
A month or two ago, I was introduced to a Japanese animated show.
Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto
The show focuses on a high school student named Sakamoto, and he has a reputation for being the most popular student.
He makes all his fangirls faint and all the guys envy him. And everything he does looks cool. Not to mention, he’s abnormally perfect.
If someone tries to prank him, he’s always somehow four steps ahead and comes out the victor.
If someone tries to hurt him, it’s the attacker that ends up being humiliated.
The point is, as you watch more episodes of th... (read more)

342. How to Speed Up Your Email Writing Process
November 13, 2020
Yesterday, I had the great pleasure to be featured on someone’s podcast show.
If you want to listen to it, you’re going to have to wait. We did the recording yesterday, and it’ll take another 30 to 40 days for the host’s team to edit and publish the episode.
But that doesn’t mean I can’t share with you right now what I talked about on the podcast.
So the question I was asked was (If my memory serves me correctly),
“What are some tips you can give to make people’s email writing process easier?”
Here’s how I broke my response down.
Before I start writing my email, I... (read more)

343. Why I Added Drawing Back to My Short List of Hobbies
November 12, 2020
In addition to music production, I also got back into art, specifically sketching.
I remember I used to do it quite often several years ago.
Back when I worked in Burger King, I would spend my break sitting with one of my co-worker’s boyfriend and drawing with him.
Fun times.
Then I stopped when I left the place and became busy with college work and internships.
Then on the week of Halloween, I was on a call with a friend and she suggested that we should try replicating one of the drawings done by one of our mutual friends, who’s a talented artist.
And so we did t... (read more)

344. Empathetic Marketing Lessons Learned from my Scythe-Wielding Days
November 12, 2020
Tales from the Online Marketing Crypt - Vol. 6 How to Set Yourself Apart as a Business Leader in Today’s Economy My Dad was, and still is, a practical man. Growing up, he would often give me odd jobs to do on the farm that seemed quite unrealistic to achieve—at least to my 10-year-old self! He didn’t give me these jobs to toughen me up or help build character. Nope. They needed to be done. I was available. Tag, I was it to do them. One summer our lawn mower broke down and the front lawn grass was getting long. In Dad’s infinite wisdom, he put me to task by delegating me to ... (read more)

345. Advice You Should Take From a Woman Who Lives As If It's the 1950s
November 11, 2020
There was an interesting video I found a few months back called,
“This woman lives every day like it’s 1958.”
And the title wasn’t lying.
A young lady who goes by the name of Laci Fay is who I want to talk about with you today.
The car she drives with her husband.
Everything in her wardrobe, from the hats to the dresses, shoes, and accessories.
Even her house looks like it time traveled from the 1950s.
And to enhance her 1958 lifestyle, she regularly goes to the Bulloch Drug Pharmacy. Yes, it’s a pharmacy but it also has a section where you can order soft dri... (read more)

346. Why I Won't Fall For the Seduction of AI Copywriting Technology
November 10, 2020
I once had a conversation with a fellow marketing person through a Lunchclub meeting.
I enjoyed talking to him. We got along very well.
At one point during our conversation, he mentioned something about using AI to do the email copywriting work for us.
My first reaction was,
“Interesting. Can you point me to the website?”
Not that I had an interest in using it for my own copywriting stuff, but I was curious to see how the technology works.
So I went to the website after the call and it wasn’t what I expected.
The service doesn’t exactly write emails for you, ... (read more)

347. The Perfect and Probably Only Way To Drive Sales is Traffic and We Have It Free
November 10, 2020
Everybody know or should know that the single most important thing that drive sales is Traffic. For those of you unfamiliar with 'traffic', it is human visitors. I say human because they are companies who use robots (bots) to generate traffic. These purchases of 'traffic' can generate huge number and more often than not, can create a false sense of security in whatever you are doing or promoting online.
Quick question: have you ever see a bot make a purchase? It is 100% a positive that they (robots) have no positive affect on sales. Most website that allow you to surf for credits are awa... (read more)

348. Commercial ads that made you more patriotic
November 10, 2020
What is patriotism? Patriotism is our love for our country, for our motherland, for our people. The feeling of patriotism gives the mind a kind of energy, a kind of strength that makes our minds happy. When the feeling of patriotism awakens, everyone's chest swells with pride and love and tears come unknowingly. Some people express their gratitude to their country by respecting the soldiers and doing some service for the country. Every citizen has this feeling but it gets more strength when your country does remarkable work on the border or in the space agency world when you get medals for your... (read more)

349. Everybody Likes Free. Grow Your Business With Everything Free
November 09, 2020
We live in a world where good reliable help is few and far between. Many are self opiniated and selfish and often seem to be self driven to the point that their primary focus is 'me, me & me'. I am very giving by nature however there is a limit like everything else. Free is not always good. Many ' good Samaritans ' often do so (give) with an alternative motive. Of course I am no different. The concept that one hand wash the other and they both wash the face is true. Unfortunately, I don't ask for much! We are in an environment that encourage values that seem unbecoming.
