Many people spend a lot of time, effort and money embarking on a new exercise and eating program with the idea of getting into better physical shape. They have dreams of losing weight, improving fitness, increasing strength and gaining energy. They know that is what they want and it will make them happier and healthier when they achieve it. But unfortunately many of these people fall beside the wayside long before they reach their lofty goals. They succumb to disappointment and frustration and end up with exactly the opposite of where they wanted to be. How can this happen, how have they failed to maintain a fitness lifestyle long enough to reach their goals? The secret is in your mind. Every new action plan starts with changes to some basic fundamentals in thought which will allow the changes to happen with ease and simplicity. Here are some strategies that will help tip the thinking pendulum from fitness failure to fitness success and make it stay at fitness success so you can achieve your goals with a new fitness mindset. 1. Do NOT set specific goals for yourself ? When you do this it suddenly increases pressure and causes anxiety. You are creating an expectation formulated from a desire that may not be realistic. Sometimes these goals are just wishful thinking and are not reasonable, and it would be nice if it happens. But it is the end product of many small steps in order that a big goal materializes and many things can happen along the way before that point. When a goal is not achieved it brings feelings of failure, disappointment, resentment and stress. There is no place for these feelings in your quest to improve fitness and lose some weight. These feelings will not serve you well and instead could well make you give up completely. Instead of setting your ultimate goal you can: 2. Decide to simply travel in the direction of fitness and wellness ? Get started on your proper strength training program and if you need to, get some help from a fitness professional. This will ensure your program is effectively going to properly reshape your body and reboot your metabolism (your body's engine). Start eating small meals (5-7 of them) each day and focus on making sure you have around 20 grams of protein in each one. Add lots of raw and cooked vegetables to rebuild health and create energy. Eat every 2-3 hours and once you get used to this way of eating you will never go back to eating whatever, whenever which is not the way to get and stay lean and slim. Make an effort each evening to prepare your meals for the next day. This is the secret to making this eating plan work. You will not then be tempted to eat things which will not help you move towards your goals. 3. Take action ? If you just start these two things (your proper exercise and eating plan) and work at the steps for improvement (not perfection) you will be well on the way to exactly what you want. You will achieve with ease and simplicity your dream of a strong, lean, slim, energetic and healthy body.
