Tony Little has been a mainstay on infomercials for a long time. He is quite fond of coming out with new videos or exercise equipment to get the average couch potato into shape. The latest products he is backing are the Gazelle Edge and the Gazelle Freestyle. Both the Edge and the Freestyle are elliptical trainers that are affordable for those who want to get into shape in the privacy of their own homes. The Edge is the most basic elliptical trainer and since its inception he has introduced the Freestyle as a mid-level elliptical trainer. Elliptical trainers are very easy to use and the Gazelle Freestyle is no different. You put your feet in the pedals, grab the handle bars and then start moving your feet. The Freestyle has a built in computer that measures the distance you have walked/jogged, the calories you have burned and the time you have been on the machine. This is great for keeping track of your workouts. If you want to vary your workouts you can follow along with the video that comes with the Freestyle. But there are some definite mixed reviews on the Freestyle. One of the most common complaints is that the machine is difficult to assemble. This may not be a problem for you if you are good with instructions. The second common complaint is that the machine squeaks. Other users who have experienced this remedied the solution by spraying on a lubricant, such as DW40. Another common complaint is that the foot pedal is too hard and needs extra cushion. But is that really a problem? Perhaps the person who made that complaint was not used to working out. The Freestyle lists for around $199.99 on Amazon, yet on Fogdog it lists for $249.99, so you definitely want to shop around before purchasing. If you do purchase the machine online, then you need to factor in shipping and handling costs. If you go to Target you can find the Freestyle in the store for $229.99 but once again, if you need to order it from a website, then it is going to cost more. If you have never been on an elliptical machine before, then the Gazelle Freestyle is going to feel awkward to use. Do not give up though because any elliptical machine is awkward when you first start. It is a very different motion than one you would use on a treadmill or a stationary bike. Tony Little may make it easy but he has had plenty of experience with elliptical trainers. Just start off slowly and before long you will have the hang of it and be getting a great workout. A whole world of information about the gazelle freestyle eagerly awaits you from Mike Selvon portal. We appreciate your feedback at our elliptical training blog.
