There are many aspects to consider when you are ready to decorate your home. From the choice in color, to the positions of mirrors, and the orientation of your bed, feng shui is made to bring calm and peace into your home. This is the most important item to focus on to accomplish the happiness in your home. Start with one room at a time and calculate your feng shui. Before any decorating in your feng shui project, you need to be mindful of color. The different color meanings in feng shui are: Red (happiness), Green (peace), White (purity), Gold (strength), Silver (metal), Yellow (gaiety) Black (calamity), and Blue (heaven). With knowing the colors, you can decorate each direction of your home to the color. 1. Living room and Dinning room- Furniture is to be placed in a circular, square group. Round tables are great for feng shui because it welcomes Chi to flow freely. Light in the room is good for energy. The more light you have the more energy. Having plants incorporated in your living room and dinning room can bring balance to the Ying and Yang. Dinning room chairs are to face the back to the wall. 2. Kitchen- Anyone can figure out that your stove and oven are the elements of fire and your sink are your elements of water. Figuring out the other elements and how to position them is the tricky part. Do not place your stove across from sink or refrigerator, for this is an opposition of Fire and Water. Nor is it good to place the stove directly facing the front and back doors. This is not considered good feng shui. Incorporating plants or the color green is your element of woo. The kitchen symbolizes wealth and family bonding. 3. Bedrooms- Positioning your bed as mentioned earlier is very important. The position in which you sleep in feng shui should be your best directions. Place the head of the bed against the wall of your best direction. Mirrors are nice to incorporate into feng shui, but you need not place them directly reflecting your bed. This will cause restlessness in your sleep. So that mirror right above your bed is a bad idea. Placing a plant just inside the room is to modify the flow of chi entering the room. Having the bed facing toward the door is also good feng shui. 4. Bathroom- In feng shui, the toilet is the only real concern to mastering feng shui. Carful planning can help you will the placement of the toilet. Separating the toilet in its own area is good because of the flow of chi is disturbed from the constant flushing. Flushing is symbolic of flushing away wealth. Always keep the toilet lid closed. With many feng shui techniques there are many alleys you can explore upon knowing the numbers and directions to each room. Have fun in your decorating. Do not stress and buy expensive items for feng shui. A bowl of water can substitute a fountain. Feng shui is a healthy art, not a stressful one.
