Tip #1 Cross What is the “Cross”? It is symbolic of how Jesus gave his life on the cross for mankind. It states, “not my will, by God’s will be done”. It is an unselfish act. Therefore, getting rid of selfishness is essential to having a long lasting marriage. Although the phrase, “Its all about me” is everywhere these days, the cross is keeping in mind that “it is not all about me”. Tip #2 Covenant Understanding the vow you made to God and your spouse on your wedding day. Understanding that you made a commitment for better or worse, richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part. Knowing that your marriage will probably have all those components and then some. And when they come, remember the covenant, go look at the wedding pictures and take a stand that I will honor the promise. Tip #3 Communicate Speaking the truth in love and not hurt or anger. Using the Word of God to help you to defeat the enemy. Knowing how and when to speak to your mate will help you have a harmonious relationship. Tip #4 Complement Finding that place of oneness (submitting to one another’s strengths and weaknesses). Tip #5 Companionship Unified in almost every aspect of your lives. Tip #6 Consideration In order to have a legally enforceable contract, there must be consideration, or an exchange between parties. In a marriage covenant, which is a legal contract, the consideration is that each will accept each other, including the good, the bad, the ugly and the difference; however, Tip #7 Commandments Throughout the Bible, you can learn everything about life with God and with one another. Also, If you love God, you will keep His commandments. Tip #8 Character Development godly characteristics to help you to minister God to others. The only way for the lost to see God is through you.
