There are a number of fantastic options for European weekend breaks, with a number of destinations being particularly suited to adult only weekends. Activities of a more sophisticated nature don’t have to be stuffy or boring, however, and no city does adult only weekends like Amsterdam! The Museumplein district has some of the best galleries and museums in Europe and seeing some of the famous Van Gogh paintings at the dedicated museum is a great way to get a feel for the artistic vibe so synonymous with the city.

A Drink or Two

There are some great beers that come from this part of the world, and a tour around the Heineken brewery gets you close to the action. See one of the most popular beers in the world being made and get to try a few samples as you go! A really great stop for beer lovers on adult only weekends in the city.

Get on Your Bike

No city anywhere in the world does cycling like Amsterdam. While you walk the charming old streets you’ll see thousands of cyclists going by and you might start to realise that they’ve got a pretty good thing going. Bike rental offers a great way to see the city like a local (and get to bars and restaurants quicker than on foot). Red Lights

One of the most famous areas of Amsterdam is also one of the most interesting. The Red Light District, for all its infamy, is a neighbourhood worth exploring. There is more here than just the seedy underbelly of the city; great bars, restaurants and some of the most unique architecture anywhere in the Netherlands can be found in this eclectic spot.
