Fixing the brick Once the mortar mix is ready the soaking brick should be taken out of the water and the excess water should be removed. The mortar mix should be applied in an equal proportion at the top and the ends of the brick. It should be kept in mind that the brick should not be mortared at the back side. Next the brick should be placed firmly into the cavity and pressed hard. The brick should be placed on the same alignment along with the other bricks. The brick should be adjusted to match the level and more mortar should be applied if necessary. Once the brick is firmly placed the remaining joints and gaps at the side should be filled with more mortar and finally, the excess mortar should be removed with a trowel.
