Michigan has many attractions, crystal-clear lakes, and variety of things to keep you and your family entertained. Here are some favorites: Battle Creek: The third largest city in Michigan, Battle Creek is located between Chicago and Detroit. The Post Cereal and Kellogg's headquarters are based here and have given the area the nickname, "The Breakfast Cereal Capital." There is also The Kimball House Museum, which has free admission and contains rare artifacts from ex-slave days. You can find hiking, water sports, biking, and bird watching at both the Kimball Pines County Park and the Fort Custer Recreational Area. Kalamazoo: This beautiful city is located in Michigan's southwestern corner. You can tube, ice skate, or toboggan at the Echo Valley Winter Sports Park, which is quite fun. Additionally, rated as one of America's 5 Top Foodie Towns, Traverse City offers the region's best restaurants. Ann Arbor: This college town is home to the University of Michigan and a popular spot for Michigan weekend getaways. There are two museums, the Exhibit Museum of Natural History and Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum. The Leslie Science and Nature Center is enjoyable with special events scheduled for children throughout the year. Depending when you go, Ann Arbor hosts many different festivals and events, too. Jackson: This city offers fun and entertaining activities. You and your family can visit Vandercook Lake and enjoy a swim, a picnic, play sports, or go boating. More fun can be had at the AllSkate fun center in the city. Jackson is also the home to Ella Sharp Museum of Art and History. Saginaw: This southern city offers fun and educational activities. You can visit The Saginaw Art Museum too see various art collections and exhibits. You can also view the exhibits at the Castle Museum. For fun, visit Kokomo's Fun Center, and you can ride bumper boat and go-karts. You can also play a round of miniature golf or laser tag and practice your swing at the batting cages.
