After you graduate from medical school and you have become licensed, you may want to move away from the area where you have been educated. This can be a scary thought simply because your school has offered to locate a job nearby. You may want to branch out and see what the rest of the country has to offer. Finding a physician job doesn't have to be a scary prospect simply because you don't live in a particular area of the country. All you need to do is find someone who can assist you. If you work with a medical recruiting company, it will be easier to find a physician job anywhere in the country. It is important that you work with a company that offers national staffing assistance. This will allow you to work with a recruiter regardless of where you are and where you want to be. You may not have any clue as to where you want to live - you simply want to find the best offer possible. If you let your recruiter know, they will come up with a few options for you. The responsibility of the recruiter is simple. They have been hired by healthcare facilities in order to find physicians. They will do whatever they can in order to fill these positions as this is how they make their money. They may be able to find you a physician job in any of the 50 states depending upon who has hired them, what positions they have available, and what positions you qualify for. Once you submit your resume to the recruiter, they will match you up to the different open positions they are recruiting for. From there, they will show you what is available and allow you to choose. You may have job offers in California, Texas, Rhode Island, Florida, and potentially anywhere else. You will be able to choose which positions you want to go after - and the recruiter will then submit your resume to these different healthcare facilities. You may end up being flown to the healthcare facility in order to interview for the position or the interview may be conducted over the phone or online. In some instances, a healthcare facility will pay for your relocation costs. A recruiter is always going to try and work this angle on your behalf. This way, you get a physician job and you get relocated to a new place in the country without spending any money. It's a good idea to work with a recruiter simply to learn about all of the different jobs available to you as a physician. You may want to work in a hospital, a doctor's office, or anywhere else Erie it if you're still undecided, a recruiter can also work with you on Locum Tenens jobs, which basically means that you are a temporary position on contract for as long as the healthcare facility requires you.
