Cynthia Panks, author of Twins' Night Before Christmas, is the Grandmother of rare mono amniotic twins. Mono amniotic twin pregnancies are rare and can result in conjoined twins. For twins that are not physically conjoined, the possibility of umbilical cord entanglement and fetal death is very high. Cynthia's twin granddaughters were no exception to this possibility. Not only was there one knot, but the cords were tripled knotted. If either knot had tightened, both babies would have been at risk. The girls were born ten weeks early. When the doctors were trying to deliver the first twin, the feet of the second twin appeared. The doctors had to untangle the twins to deliver them. Weighing two pounds, ten ounces and three pounds, two ounces, the twins are now seventeen year old beauties who are honor students at their high school. All of Cynthia's grandchildren are twins; her two daughters each have a set of twin girls; one set is identical and the other, fraternal. She and her husband are retired educators who reside in their hometown, Slidell, Louisiana, where she continues to write and work as a Freelance Video Editor. "Twinsbookshelf Website"
