Now it is important to keep in mind that our digestive system is only able to digest and process around 10 grams of protein per hour. Let's say you drink a 60-gram protein shake at 2pm? By 3:30pm your body will have only absorbed around 15 grams of protein. So what about the other 45 grams? Usually after 2 hours or so the remaining unprocessed protein gets flushed out of your system.
