Ping has waded even deeper into the adjustability pool, this time with its Ping G25 driver. Released right after the PGA Merchandise Show, it is the first in the G series to have that feature, and it gives golfers the ability to tweak lofts half a degree, either up or down. With its performance-engineered adjustable hosel, the Ping G25 Driver's hosel design is optimized by using a lightweight titanium screw and aluminum hosel sleeve. The design maintains the same outer diameter and mass as Ping's traditional fixed hosels. This provides the benefits of adjustability (+/- 1/2 degree) without sacrificing the performance that's often lost in clubs with larger, bulkier hosel designs. This club is shorter than my R11s 3-wood. And about 25-30 yards shorter than my R9 460 driver. The G25 never crossed my mind as I had the cheap Ping G20 driver and the spin for me was insanely high. I went to the shop where I buy most of my stuff looking for a "tour stiff" but he only had a tour x stiff in a left handed (yeah you have to apply the adjustable settings in reverse-big deal). I was worried about a "tour x stiff" but I am impulsive and he was giving me good money for the R1. Well, I have played this driver 3 times now and it is amazing. The feel is fantastic. The sound is loud but I do not mind that. The shaft feels great. It is fairly light but pretty darn stiff- good combo. It is about as long as the Taylormade R1 driver for sale, maybe 5 yards shorter but I don't care. The club is so stable. It is so so forgiving too. I found 7 fairways (great for me) and barely missed 6 others. Ping shafts are very good by the way. This cub looks good too. I had the cheap callaway x hot driver for sale 9.5 and my normal driver was 305, had the cobra amp cell and my average drive was 280, then i bought the ping g25 and my average drive is 285. i have the Graphite Design ADT tour stiff flex. I definately did not like the stock shaft so it had to go. On a good note though the club is definatelty accurate and it is rare that i do not hit the fairway. The Ping G25 feels great and the ball jumps off the club face better than any other driver I’ve hit tested so far this year. It really is a steal for anyone looking to get more out of their driver.
