Can we, as some people would have us believe, lose weight by drinking a healthier version of coffee? Is this just a myth? An urban legend? Or does it have some science to back up their claims. We will look at what Healthy Coffee is and if it can help control weight as the claims state. Coffee in its most basic form has been around for a long time, different varieties and flavours from all over the world. It comes from the plant Coffea sp. It grows mostly in tropical countries.eg. India and northern Queensland Australia. And has been around for a few thousand yrs. And is the 2nd most consumed beverage in the world, 2nd only to water and is the 2nd highest traded commodity next to oil. So it is big business, it is estimated that 1.6 billion cups of coffee are consumed daily worldwide, also that 80% of people over the age of 18 consume coffee. Most people consume multiple cups of Coffee every day. So what is Healthy Coffee and can it offer benefits that normal coffee cannot? In many case studies coffee has been found to be an antioxidant and have a good effect on various illnesses and even of some benefit to type 2 Diabetes. Other studies show that it can cause hypertension and excess acidity in the human body. It is the excess acidity that is the problem with a lot of people, seeming to cause heartburn and stomach ulcers. None of the studies say that Coffee is the cause but probably contributes to the problems. Healthy Coffee is the result of infusing Coffee with Herbs. It is hoped that this infusion will allow the benefits of the herbs to supplement the Coffee. This is a well know process with Tea, and has proven to be very popular indeed. The problem is the herbs can overpower the flavour of the beverage and would only appeal to certain types of consumers. Coffee drinkers generally prefer to drink coffee flavoured coffee, not some flowery or fruity version of the drink; this excludes those people who use syrup to flavour latte. They tend to be nutty flavours which go with the coffee. The most recent and interesting infusion of a herb into Coffee is the herb Ganoderma lucidum, or Reishi Mushroom. A man by the name of Bernie Chua came up with the process to infuse Ganoderma with coffee without changing the texture, the aroma and the flavour and colour of the Coffee. The health benefits of Ganoderma are highly documented, dating back to Ancient China. T The most interesting being it makes the Coffee alkaline, which helps the body to fight diseases and illness, and has even been of benefit to people undergoing chemo, as it has adjuvant properties. It has many healthful qualities, and seems to be of benefit to many people. One of the amazing qualities of Ganoderma is that it puts the body back into balance, and many people have reported that they have lost weight and have seemed to have gone through a detox process and that after a few weeks of changing to a Healthy Coffee their energy levels have increased as well as their stamina and vitality. So it would seem that the answer is yes, we can lose weight while drinking a Healthier Coffee. For more information please feel free to go to my website and I will provide more information
