Throughout his youth, Joshua Lundberg has always been involved in the community. “I can’t remember a day when it wasn’t important to me,” says Joshua Lundberg. Indeed, many friends, neighbors, and family members have always seen Joshua Lundberg as a prime example of what it means to be a servant. “He’s always been involved in the latest project,” says one friend. While Joshua Lundberg may have inspired others to get involved, many aren’t sure how they can make a difference in the community. With so many options, some people find it difficult to select a community service project to become involved with. “It’s actually not as difficult as you think,” says Joshua Lundberg. “The most important step is to just get started. The rest will fall into place after that.” Still, Joshua Lundberg offers some insight for young adults looking for ways to get involved in the local community. These tips include: - Volunteering with student groups. “Academic organizations are some of the easiest ways to give back to the community,” says Joshua Lundberg. “It’s so much fun to serve alongside your friends.” Many of the volunteer activities that Joshua Lundberg participated in as a youth were through school, so he understands the importance of these student groups. In fact, Joshua Lundberg volunteered with the Adopt a Highway Program as a student.
- Getting involved with youth programs. Joshua Lundberg says that there are many local, national, and international youth programs aimed at giving young adults an opportunity to give back. For instance, Joshua Lundberg served as a representative with the United Nations to discuss youth violence and how the trends can be curbed.
- Working with a nonprofit agency. “Nonprofit agencies are an awesome way to focus on a specific cause,” says Joshua Lundberg. He enjoys working with these causes to help create a better world for those around him.
Throughout his life, Joshua Lundberg has encouraged his peers to become active in the community and give back. Through his example and encouragement, Joshua Lundberg hopes that other young adults will become committed members of the community and make a positive impact. Whenever he isn’t volunteering or studying for school, Joshua Lundberg enjoys being active. He enjoys the outdoors and loves sports including skiing and tennis. Joshua Lundberg is working on graduating with his B.A. and intends to obtain a professional degree after that to pursue his professional endeavors.
