The pond pumps are important for timely cleaning and circulation of water. And different types require different fittings. Right connection of fish pond pumps based on the basic formula will provide years of convenient and efficient services for people. First, position a pond pump near the filter or any water features, such as waterfalls and fountains, you have in your backyard pond. Submersible pond pumps should be supported by rocks or bricks so they do not fall over or sink too low. Second, cut a length of the largest-diameter hose able to fit on both the filter and pump connectors. Make sure it is long enough to go between the mechanisms without stretching. Also cut a length of the same tubing or hose to go from the pond pump outlet to where the water will flow back into the pond. Third, attach the hose or tube to both the filter and pond pump with a threaded connector. There are ones that can be slipped over the end of a flexible hose. If this does not work or you cannot find one that fits, use a hose clamp. Fourth, tighten hose clamps and connectors firmly but not until they stress the connections or become impossible to remove. Never use sealants or adhesives on pond pump connections; this will prevent maintenance should the hoses become clogged with algae or debris. Lastly, position the pond pump, filter and waterfall or fountain hoses in the appropriate places in your pond. This will be determined by the size, shape and depth of your pond. Prime the pump with water, or if it is submersible pump allow it to sit for a few minutes, and then turn it on. Check for sufficient water flow through the filter or any fountains and adjust connections if necessary. This article comes from:http://www.ruirongpump.com/news/34.htm
