Why Italian Style Home Decor is Perfect for Every Home?

E-Commerce,Interior Design
When it comes to designing your home or doing up its interiors, everyone has a different taste and choice. While some may like the modern look, some prefer the old world charm. There are many types of themes to select from, one of them being the Italian Home Décor Theme. This is a unique and beautiful style which combines simplicity and elegance. This theme makes use of a palette of warm earthy tones, pottery and painted items to create a cozy and inviting feel. This design focuses on creating the look and feel of a typical Italian home, anywhere in the world, without too much effort.

Italians are full of life and family oriented people. They love to have their friends and family around them. Therefore, it goes without saying that an Italian home, first and foremost, is a very welcoming home. It is full of love, happiness, enjoyment and little treasures. It has a casual and friendly feel to it. The décor and designing of such a home is done keeping comfort as well as sophistication in mind. Employing this theme of interior decoration is a fantastic way to improve the interiors of your home and can be created by following certain simple steps.

No matter what kind of design you select, colors play an essential role. Same goes for the Italian style too. The walls of an Italian home are generally colorful. The most preferred are rich earthy tones such as brown, green, red, apricot, orange, peach, yellow etc. Even shades inspired from the ocean and sky, like blue and white are also frequently used. In fact, all these shades are used in muted tones too. Colors are used to create liveliness and to bring out the beauty of any place and so a mix and match of all these colors is commonly seen in an Italian home.

Textures are extremely important to this style of interior designing. Whether it is the walls, the floor or the ceiling, textured finish is mostly preferred. Stone and tile flooring are extremely popular in an Italian home. So are wooden and laminated floors. These help to create a natural and warm look. Textures are used on walls as well. For creating a simple look plain plaster is done on the walls, whereas for a different and attractive look various types of techniques are followed at the time of plastering. In fact, reed diffuser sand is also commonly added for a different feel and finish. As far as ceilings are concerned, plastered, wooden, false ceilings and decorative detailings are somewhat common too.

When it comes to the furniture, it should be something that enhances the interior decoration of a room and adds appeal to it. Textures are quite prevalent here as well, especially when it comes to tables. A stone, slate or terracotta table top is a very popular kind of table design. Prop it on a wrought iron stand and you have yourself a typical Italian table. As Italian design is a cultural heritage look, it makes use of antique furniture which is generally made from different types of wood such as oak, pine, cherry, mahogany etc. However, in the modern styled houses materials like glass, steel and various metals are frequently used too.

Windows are the eyes of a home and they need to be given due importance. Window treatments should, thus, be done with a lot of care as they help to create a specific look for a home. You could go for beautifully flowing sheer curtains or heavily embroidered ones. You could also choose from the huge range of all sorts of natural fabrics made from the fiber of various trees. Such materials are very famous in Italy as they are quite versatile and are therefore used for making many things such as room freshener, drapes, blinds, dividers, screens, placemats, floor-mats etc. With the Italian style, you want an earthy and decorative ambiance, so be careful while selecting the curtains and drapes as they must compliment your furniture and color theme.

Accessories are a very important part of Italian home décor. So to accentuate your décor you could put up paintings in beautifully ornate frames as Italians love art. They are equally fond of pottery as well and attractive vases, especially those made of terracotta, are sure to be a part of every Italian home. You could even use things like large wall clocks, silver candlesticks, copper pots and pans etc. to decorate your home. Rugs are also a great way of enhancing the look of the floor and are commonly used in this type of designing. Same goes for crystal and metal chandeliers too. Another thing that the Italians deeply love is wine. Having a well-stocked wine rack, somewhere in the living room, could also be a boastful accessory. Accompany it with a few beautiful wine glasses and you have yourself a looker.

Italian style of interior decoration is one of the most loved themes all over the world as it is a wonderfully warm and rustic, yet subtly elegant and sophisticated style. It is inspired by the wonderful greenery and earthiness of the land and the gorgeousness of the lovely blue skies and ocean. Beautiful art and ceramics are used to accentuate the overall look of the home. It is a style that gives you an opportunity to express your style and creativity and is thus perfect for everyone and for every home.
