Ping have moved from the conventional shiny look to a mat black finish throughout their drivers, fairways & hybrids and what a difference that makes in look. Here look at the Ping G25 Fairway Wood. The Ping G25 Fairway Wood has a shallow head and this aids in getting the ball up in the air a lot easier than a deep head. The traditionally shaped head has a non-reflective, matte black finish with an easily visible alignment mark. Hits are smooth with a little different sound that most fairways, almost muted. Feedback to the hands is clear without being bothersome. Similar to the cheap Ping G25 driver, the fairways launch the ball with minimal ball spin, which result in straighter shots. Just for a little game with myself at the range, I sighted between two trees about 10 feet apart and tried to see how many I could land. The G25 is offered in a 3, 4, 5 & 7 wood variants with a stock shaft (Ping TFC). It comes in 5 different shaft options starting at a Soft Regular & peaking at the Tour X Stiff. These fairway woods launch fairly high in comparison to other manufacturers fairway woods and that is due to the lower and deeper centre of gravity, this aids any player in bringing the ball in ‘softer’ into a Par5 and holding the putting surface where there is water in front of the green for example. With the looks of the club as well as the performance of the cheap golf clubs I would recommend this club really to any golfer. I had some difficulty getting a good draw out of the G25 but slight cut shots were effortless, admittedly this was probably more me than the cheap G15 driver. G25 is not adjustable and in today’s game it’s almost expected for a ‘top-end’ club to have the option of varying lie angles and lofts. For the better player this may not be an issue as they are confident enough in their stock standard shot shape, lie angles & loft and only very rarely would need to change that due to a course playing harder or softer etc. Overall, the Ping G25 Fairway Wood will be a great choice for those who are looking for a new fairway wood. It would definitely be the biggest help for mid-handicappers. Source from: http://www.salemallgolf.com/article-773-Ping+G25+Fairway+Wood+is+the+First+Choice+for+Many+Golfers.html
