About the Band: Kylesa is known as a sludge metal band from USA, formed in 2001 in Savannah, Georgia. Vocalist-guitarist Phillip Cope, drummer Carl McGinley, bassist Chase Rudeseal and Laura Pleasants are the current members of the band. On the other, vocalist Brian Duke, bassist Corey Barhorst and drummer Christian Depken are some of the past members of the band. About the Album: Ultraviolet is the sixth album from American band Kylesa. Writing and recording of the band: Kylesa wrote the ‘Ultraviolet’ throughout a span of two years. They recorded the album in Jam Room, Columbia, SC between October and December 2012. It was the first time that the band played a lot of theramin in that album; used synthesizer and skateboard also. Promotion and Release: Kylesa released 3 of Ultraviolet’s tracks, such as, ‘Quicksand’, ‘Vulture’s land’ and ‘We’re Taking This’. Thereafter the ‘Ultraviolet’ was released in May 24, 2013 in Europe and in May 28 in USA. The band went on a tour with Blood Ceremony, Lazer/ Wulf and White Hills to support their album ‘Ultraviolet’, from May 28 to June 22, 2013. Review sites, like Metacritic rated the album ‘Ultraviolet’ with an average score of 78 out of 100, based on 12 total reviews. Charts: the band peaked at 173rd position on the Billboard 200.It was also topped on 14th position on the Billboard Hard Rock Albums.
