Muscle growth and improved physique are not goals you will attain by tomorrow morning. It is a goal that requires focus and determination. Some people mistakenly emphasize speed over technique while working out. Focusing on technique while doing your repetitions more slowly will significantly improve your results, regardless of the exercise you are working on. Take things slowly, ensuring that you are doing the exercise the right way.

Build your bodybuilding routine around the bench press, the dead lift and the squat. These key exercises form the foundation of any good bodybuilding routine, and rightly so. They are the exercises that will improve your strength and muscle mass. No matter the kind of regimen you set up, keep these three exercises as the cornerstones.

Warming up the right way is important when trying to increase muscle mass. The stronger your muscles become, the more stress you place on them and the more important it is to warm up to avoid strains and tears. If you take the time to warm up first, you can do your best to prevent any type of injury from happening. You should start with a few sets of light exercising followed by intermediate sets before doing any heavy lifting.

Try to use caution when using creatine. This is very bad for people with kidney issues. They have been shown to cause heart arrhythmia, muscle compartment syndrome, and muscle cramps. Adolescents using this supplement are at the highest risk. Try to ensure that you use the supplements safely if you decide you are going to integrate them into your workouts.

Several people mistakenly increase protein intake when building muscle mass. By doing this, too many calories are being consumed and if a person is only exercising a small amount, fat can increase. Your body will be able to increase muscle growth best when you gradually increase your protein intake by several hundred calories several days apart.

Hydration is a vital component in muscle building. If you are not drinking enough water, then you can injure your muscles. Additionally, hydration has a role both in maintaining and increasing muscle mass, which is why it is vital for a lot of reasons.

Add a couple plyometric exercises to your routine. These exercises allow you to develop your fast-twitch muscle fibers, which help to stimulate muscle growth. Like ballistic moves, plyometrics require acceleration. For example, when you're doing plyometric push-ups, you let your hands jump from the floor to explode as high as possible.
