I have been playing with a Callaway VFT 3 wood for many years but I was interested to see how it compared to newer models, Ping G25 Fairway Wood. I've been searching for a good 3 wood without much success. hit about everyclub made at demo days. my favorite that I had hit at a few demo days was the Ping G15 fairway wood. It offers a long, forgiving option for golfers who rely on the confidence of a larger head. I played a round with it yesterday and the G15 delivered great ball flight and outstanding distance. The club head looks great at address and the grip and the shaft feel perfect. The head is larger than the G10, and the sole works well out of the rough. The feel is excellent, like a punch at impact. The G15 pulls off that shot quite easily as the ball is launched quickly and effortlessly. Regardless of being in the light rough or the fairway, the sole interacts with the ground smoothly and the distance was pretty impressive. The G15 makes going for par five's in two a whole lot more entertaining. The G15's forgiveness factor is rated as Extreme and I could not agree more. There is some workability in it to be sure but I found the G15 primarily wants to go straight. The best price golf clubs G25 features the thinnest face that Ping have ever put in a fairway wood. By using an extreme variable-thickness face, Ping's R&D team were able to trim weight from the face and place it lower and further back in the club. Combine this with an external sole weight and naturally the club's CG moves lower and further back as well, increasing the club's forgiveness, especially on shots struck on the lower portion of the face. Combined with the better player looks, this is an ideal club for mid-handicappers or those who want a 'put-it-in-the-fairway' club from the tee. It was much harder than the i20 fairway to shape shots as the G25 just wanted to bang it straight. The sound was a little duller than the G20 but the trajectory was possible a little more penetrating thanks to that marginal increase in ball speed. The other visual change is the head size which is a little smaller than the G20 fairway. It is still a generous head size, but a little shorter from heel to toe. It does sit very well at address and the usual Ping low profile gives you the feeling of being able to sweep the ball away very easily. The G15 isn't a miracle worker for your swing but it's pretty close. Put a decent swing into it and you will be rewarded. If you are in the market for a 3 wood, I recommend that you put this club on your list. Source from: http://www.bestpriceukgolf.com/article-488-Ping+G25+Fairway+Wood++G15+Fairway+Wood+Review.html
