The article talks about what exactly online study is and how online study materials are beneficial to students. Also, what advantages does having online materials for study give an individual over the usual textbooks or coaching classes. For students who are preparing for their State Board, ICSE or CBSE Board exams, having a constant source of knowledge available is of paramount importance. And since no classes or teachers can be available 24/7, the only other source that is reliable is studying through material available online. Online study is comparatively new and a lot of people are unaware of the true potential that it holds. To realize them, we must first understand that online study is. Simply put, it is studying with the help of a computer. This apparently simple definition holds a lot of possibilities. Firstly, it ensures that you are never left behind in the process of learning. That is, as long as you have a computer with you, learning shall always be at your beck and call. And secondly, it gives you the thing that most people dream of – flexibility. Now the question arises, that why would one prefer to look for study material online when good old books are present with us. The reasons are numerous: The book gives you access to only one author; at the most, a couple of authors. Beyond that, it becomes a cost consuming factor. However, with the online presence of books, one could literally access hundreds of authors within a span of minutes. So, if you feel that you have mastered the questions of Physics from the two books; you do not have to sit idle. A lot of authors and many more questions are waiting to be solved. The second advantage that one gets with online study materials is a degree of flexibility. If you have an important extra class at school that you cannot afford to miss and if it clashes with the timings of your Maths coaching classes, the scenario will not be pleasant. However, if your study material is online; you could attend the extra class and yet finish your Maths coaching because there is no scope of clash between the two. The flexibility of having online study gives rise to another advantage – accountability. For example, you could always tell your JEE teacher that you could not prepare the Physics lesson because you had to study for a upcoming test in school. And while that may be the truth, it makes you lose out on the next chapter in Physics that the teacher is teaching. However, since online classes and studies are not strictly restrictive in their timing; you could finish your Physics lesson later in the day and then tackle the next chapter. It is literally a win-win situation. Perhaps the biggest advantage of online study materials is that it puts the control in the hand of the student. If you are preparing for your CBSE Board exams and the class in generally weak in Chemistry, the teacher will tend to concentrate more on it. However, if Maths is what you need to focus on; you will not get it in class. That is because the teacher or the facilitator always moves according to the general performance of the class. Online studying on the other hand, makes you your own master.
