After a 1 week holiday in this excellent town, I must confess that it's not difficult to fall head over heels in love with Bangkok. I had heard lots about the entrancing cultures, hi tech way of life, incredible Buddhist churches, crowd pleasing flea markets and mad nightlife in Bangkok, and was intense curious to investigate the "City of Angles". These overload imaginations were ringing all around me, even if I was in aircraft. I landed at the Savarnbhumi airport, and as fast as I got off the airplane, the town started to lure me. The just designed Bangkok airport has a lot to tell about: from incredible state-of-the-art facilities to phenomenal use of cutting edge technologies. But what astonished me the most was the design where an estimable attempt has been made to integrate Thai art into modern fashions of building. Great Thai paintings on the walls look just awe-inspiring. I employed an aircon taxi, maybe the most comfortable and best way to get around in the town, to reach to my hotel. Though I already had an idea or two about how hospitable & warm Thai folk are, this time I experienced it myself. The way hotel staff treated me on arrival was appraisable. It's a straightforward 4-star hotel of the town, but quite electrifying apropos structure, hospitality as well as modern comforts. Well-proportioned rooms were fitted out with 1 or 2 modern conveniences like wi-fi web, a half-wall screen, radio-controlled lighting and an enormous rest room. As it was pre-planned, I stopped day one exploring glittering Bangkok, by which I mean the shining churches, palaces and historic ruins demonstrating city's made past and cultures. First off, I am getting tempted by the Wat Arun, an ancient church on western coast of Chao Phraya Brook . Fantastic architectural beauty joined with best of artfulness, this church is one of the most impressive churches in Thailand. It homes an impressive steeple of height over seventy meters, which is stunningly adorned with small pieces of coloured glasses. Wat Mahathat is another fine example of Buddhism and grand design. This one of the very oldest churches in Thailand is a major center for the discipline of Buddhism and meditation. Some other structures of grand non secular importance here include Wat Phra Khae, Wat Traimit and Wat Saket. When you are in Bangkok, it is nearly very unlikely not to be impressed the scale and aspiration of design of the famous Great Palace. Unarguably, the city's most blinding and impressive historic landmark, the Grand Palace has become the signature of Bangkok just like Eiffel Tower in Peris and Statue of Freedom in N. Y. You can not afford to miss out shopping & nightlife, when you are in Bangkok. Feted for its vibrant shopping centers, wonderful flea markets and local street-side shopping, the town gives you never-ending chance to get your bags full. The most renowned areas for shopping are Chatuchuk Market, Asiatique Square and Siam Square. Taking a tour Khao San Road gives you a nightlife experience you have not gone through. For those inclined toward history & cultures, this town has a detailed list of places to go and visit on. I went to the Bangkok State Museums and Bank of Thailand Museum, both are awesomely gracious. I spent 3 days in Bangkok, and then headed to Pattaya. I loved there a full day on its beautiful beaches and an overnight stay. There's a lot more (past this outline) that I experienced in Bangkok and Pattaya, and which blew my mind utterly.
