In industrial applications heat generated by working equipment and machinery is high which if left uncontrolled will result in the breakdown of the system. An air cooled scroll chiller is a process chiller which serves as a refrigeration system. The system cools the process fluid or it dehumidifies the air in commercial and industrial facilities. It uses refrigerants making it work as an industrial chiller. Air cooled scroll chillers also provide chilled water for all air conditioning applications by leveraging central station air handling or terminal units. They are most suitable for outdoor installations. An air cooled scroll chiller includes hermetic scroll compressor, a liquid cooler, air-cooled condenser, a charge of refrigerant and a weather-resistant microprocessor control center. All the parts of the air cooled scroll chiller are enclosed in a rugged steel mounting. The chillers are designed for easy maintenance and to reduce total cost of equipment. They are easy to install and occupy less space. Most air-cooled scroll chillers are light in weight and come in variable energy, sound and mechanical configurations in order to suit different applications. They can be trusted for high reliability even in tough summer conditions as they are designed to work at high ambient temperature of 45 degrees Celsius. In cases where subzero temperatures will be experienced anti-freezing elements will be installed in the factory itself. Refrigerants that are used include Freon and care is taken that the material is eco-friendly and is of non-ozone depleting type. The microprocessor based controller provides various setting options covering safe operating conditions. Even if a set value is overridden the controller will immediately stop the chiller and provide a visual display. The controller also adjusts the number of condenser fans and compressors that have to be ON in order to save power. Air-cooled scroll chillers feature multiple compressors with low starting current making them suitable for small and medium industry applications as well. This enables the usage of only some of the compressors that are enough to meet the reduced load conditions. Chillers also allow top discharge of exhaust air which allows for the air cooled chillers to be installed on rooftops.
