It seems like every bride has a weight loss goal that they try to meet before their big day. Strict diets and tough exercise routines are helpful, but it can be difficult to focus on losing weight when you're also focusing on planning a wedding. Dropping 40 pounds before your wedding day sounds like an attainable goal when you first get engaged. But after devoting time to finding the right save the dates magnets and perfect floral arrangements, many people find that their original weight loss goals may have been too ambitious. There are ways you can look your best for your big day without having to resort to extreme weigh loss tactics, and it's all in the way you dress and carry yourself. Find a Flattering Gown If you want to look your best on your wedding day, you need to pick a wedding gown that shows off your best assets (and hides some of your less than fabulous areas). If you want to draw attention away from your hips, pick a gown with an empire waist or something with a nice full skirt. If you want to slim down your waist and show off your bust, look for a gown with corset bodice. If you can't decide which area you want to show off, remember that a gown with an A-line silhouette can flatter almost every figure. Work on Your Posture Your teachers and parents were right to nag you about your posture, walking and sitting with an incorrect one can make a big difference in how you look. Keep in mind that having perfect posture doesn't mean that you have to stand still, in fact if you stand still for a while you're more likely to slouch from being so rigid. When you walk and sit make sure that you keep your shoulders up and back. If you're too exhausted after the ceremony to keep your shoulders from slouching forward, try to shrug them up towards your ears a few times to loosen yourself up. Pose Correctly for Pictures Your wedding photos will be what you show your family, friends, and future children when they ask about your wedding day, so you want to make sure that you look excellent in all of them. If you want to look slim in your pictures, keep your shoulders back and push your chin forward while keeping your body slightly turned. If you do you'll look much slimmer than you would if you were staring directly at the camera.
