Just like the human body, machines should be maintained to make it function properly. Maintenance is necessary to make your motorcycle perform at its best. As a rider and owner you should know how to maintain and care for it. It is part of being a responsible owner and requires effort. In return, maintenance will help motorcyclists save money and time replacing damaged parts that could have last longer if properly cared. A motorcycle owner must learn first how to keep the motorcycle clean. It’s not enough to wipe the parts that are dusty or muddy; motorcycles must be washed at least twice a year or depending on its condition. Any engine that is cleaned regularly works and performs at its best. Another motorcycle maintenance technique is to learn how to change the engine’s oil. Oil makes engines function smoothly and efficiently. Oil is important to make motorcycles last longer and if changed regularly reduces loss of power. Lubrication should be done regularly or after every 2000 kms. Just check your manual to find out what type of oil to use since it can differ with each bikes model. Regular inspection and maintenance of motorcycle tires is highly recommended. Tires indicate smooth travel and transfer you from one place to another. Vehicles cannot move without tires. Tire pressure can change due to temperature, humidity and riding style. As a motorcycle owner, you should observe your tires to know if they are too soft or too hard to avoid flat tires and road mishaps. Motorcycles should be used regularly. Listen carefully to the sound it makes, an experienced rider can tell immediately id there’s something with the engine just by listening to it. After all, motorcycles are just machines and it won’t last long if its owner doesn't know how to take good care of it. A motorcycle needs to be tuned up, lubricated and regularly cleaned.
