Description: This course Supervisor Training is relevant to supervisors who work in the mining industry and to those who intend to seek (and maintain) employment in the surface coal mining industry. Supervisor trainingcovers: 1 The application of the processes and tasks necessary to conduct inspections and to identify, analyse and assess risks, recommend treatment, contribute to implementation of treatments and to monitor risks. 2 Preparation, testing and documentation of site working instructions or equivalent. 3 The application of safety and health investigative processes at the operational level, including the identification and collection of evidence, the analysis of evidence to identify the reasons for and results of the occurrence. 4 Identification and documentation of courses of action to resolve and or prevent re-occurrence of the issues or problems. 5 The functions required to effectively communicate information with other persons in the mining industry and Communicating verbally, communicating in written and report form, participating in meetings, making presentations, and participating in operational level negotiations. Benefits : Upon successful completion of this training program, participants will have acquired the skills and knowledge to enable them to undertake the role of and perform the duties and position requirements of a Mine Safetyand Health Representative. Job Roles: These units of competence are appropriate for those working as supervisors or those identified as future supervisors at worksites within 1 Civil construction 2 Coal mining 3 Drilling 4 Extractive Industries 5 Metalliferous mining. In some cases, such as on a coal mine in Queensland, these units are a statutory requirement for a coal mine worker who is authorised by the site senior executive to give directions to other coal mine workers in accordance with the safety and health management system.
