On the one hand this good device from the prestigious house of Nokia shares many top-end functionalities with Nokia N80 in terms of both design, style and other impressive functionalities, Nokia's N95 up-scales the technological parameters of a mobile phone to a newer level. Theoretically, there seems to be little that this talkie-wonder can't do in terms of looks, features and extra qualities. It is supported by the quad-band GSM/EDGE technological feature. Apart from this the facility of 2100MHz UMTS, 5 mega pixel auto-focus camera, built-in GPS receiver, Bluetooth stereo support system and 802.11b/g WLAN features make it a truly competitive piece of talking device . It is a bit larger slider form-factor handset from the illustrious phone manufacturer. Its measurements are 100 x 53 x 20 mm (3.9 x 2.1 x .8 inch) in size. But coming with a weight of 121g (4.3oz), it is by no means in the race for the thinnest, slender-most and lightest handset in the market. The phone's front has a somewhat common-looking silver paint finish; but its sides and back are really attractive with a soft touch style dark burgundy coloured paint having a very nice and touchy feel to it. Nokia has performed a far-far better job in devising the slider mechanism on the N95 in comparison to what it did with the N80 model. Its slider is based on a spring-loaded mechanism in place of the friction-based style found in the N80, which made it prone to be opened by itself. On top of that, taking it further on the path of eased up functionalities, the slider in the N95 is capable of moving in two directions, thus exposing the keypad when the user slides it one way; and a series of four well-contrived media playback keys on the other side. Provincialism and other forms of professional lethargies have definitely taken a huge back seat in the phone industry today and Nokia in fact happens to be in the drivers’ seat on account of the fastly rising demand of its handsets. The prominent mobile manufacturer is on a real roll here with newer, better and trendiest phones which are being launched almost on a weekly basis in the mobile market. With the launch of this technological-giant of a phone, Nokia is attempting to overpower the competition of any phone out there in its class be it business, media, entertainment. Nokia being a leading and tremendously respected brand name in the mobile phone industry, it must obviously be putting tremendous stress on the company to out-smart not just its competitors, but its own products. And on a very happy note for the mobile users across the world, this is what the company has exactly done. It has taken the definition of communication to a very high new level by loading its products with some really heavy and sophisticated communication artillery. The N95 is a dual slider communication devise equipped with a normal keypad capable of sliding out from its underside when the phone is pushed upward; and another media keypad which slides out from the top-end when the phone is thrust downward. To be frank, the second slider is in fact quite redundant because it’s got just four buttons meant for play, pause, stop, rewind, forward or the skip keys; which could have been very easily placed around any of the edges of the phone without needing a slider mechanism. In most of the Nokia phones, the five way navigation pad (available in this phone too) can be utilised for all such options as well. Further, the buttons circling around the navigation pad like the edit, cancel , call and end keys in addition to the two user definable keys are really a marvel of user-friendliness. The users will find the services of dedicated camera key in very efficient company of another key just above, which will take the users straight way to the gallery. All this make it a really nice and quick access to the functional services available with the set. Situated on the top of that are the volume and zoom keys. The Nokia N95 is adorned with a splendid 2.6 inch display supporting a resolution of 320x240 pixels with 16 million colours to make it a very stylish phone among the high-end users.
