It contains 12 sovereign states along with some islands like ABC Island, Trinidad and Tobago. It ranks fourth in area and fifth in population. The Western or Eastern coasts of the continent have high population density, while the interior and the far south regions are sparsely populated. Antarctica: the most remote corner of the earth, this continent is known as the coldest place on the earth. Much of the landmass is covered with snowy mountains and glaciers and it has a few native plants & animals. It is the earth’s southernmost continent with no permanent human residents. Europe: this is small in size, but very important from economical, geographical and cultural point of view. It is densest populated continent on the earth, consisting of some of the oldest human civilizations including the Greeks and Romans. The countries like England, Ireland, Sicily, German and Italy are the parts of Europe. Euro is the commonly accepted currency of most of European countries. Australia: the smallest of the continents, Australia lies on a continental shelf overlain by swallow sea. It contains the main Australia Island, Tasmania and many small neighbouring islands.
