The interior of your car can get as dirty as the outside, especially if you spend a lot of time in it. If your car interior isn't looking as fresh as you'd like, there are a number of things that you can do to return it to its cleanest and most attractive state. Before you use auto carpet cleaner, you should vacuum your car thoroughly. Pick up large trash and discard it first. Then use the vacuum to get under seats, in the creases between cushions, and on the flat floor surfaces of the car. You can remove mats and vacuum them as well. This will have your car looking much fresher in a matter of minutes. The next thing that you should do is treat the stains in your car. A multi-purpose auto carpet cleaner is the best option. Choose one that you blot rather than scrub. In the small confines of the car, it can be difficult to reach some stains, so it's much easier to blot them up than to get in and really scrub them away. Spot treat all the stains in the car that are on upholstered areas. Finally, you can polish up the rest of your interior with other tools. A damp paper towel or cloth will do wonders on the dash of the car. Special leather cleaning products should be used on any kind of leather upholstery. To keep your car looking clean in the long term, install a plastic bag over the back of one of the seats or in the middle of the car to use as a trash bag. Placing trash here will prevent spills when mostly empty containers are discarded on the ground. Use cups with lids when drinking in the car to prevent spills. If your car cleaning products leave an aroma that you don't find pleasing, leave the windows open to air out the car for a few hours. Look for a carpet cleaning product that removes smells associated with stains. This will help your car to get a fresh clean scent in it. Adding a new air freshener as a finishing touch is a great way to complete your interior touch up.
