Touted to be the most popular bullfighting festival in Spain, for two weeks, locals and tourists flock to the bullring to watch the battle betweens matadors and angry bulls. In addition to normal bullfights, bullfights on horsebacks known as rejoeos are popular attractions of the bullring. San Fermin Fiesta in Pamplona Although strictly not a bullfighting festival, nonetheless, the running of the bulls in San Fermin Fiestas has made Pamplona one of the most visited cities of Spain during the second week of July, when the festival is held. For nine days, locals and visitors, eager to experience the wrath of the running bulls, dress in red and white clothing gather at the city square. The run that lasts for not more than three minutes is risky yet entertaining. Fallas Festival in Valencia In March, people of Valencia welcome spring with the Fallas festival. Along with open-air concerts, large bonfires and fireworks, bullfights are held every day during the fiesta in the city’s bullring. Bullfights attract a large number of visitors to Valencia also during Feria de Julio of the July fair. April Festival in Seville The La Maestranza bullring in Seville is packed with noisy crowds cheering the matadors as they encounter the raging bulls on Easter Sunday and during the April festival. Carnival in Ciudad de Rodrigo Bullfighting is the main attraction in the Carnival in Ciudad de Rodrigo held every year in February.
