Everybody's all abuzz about Google entering the tablet industry with its brand new Nexus 7, which is arranged to be released by the end of July. Based on its specs, this latest slice of Tablet is set up to douse the flames of Amazon's Kindle Fire, even though it isn't likely to take much of a bite away from Apple's iPad sales. Even so the new Google gadget has renewed the speculation that Apple may soon put out a 7' iPad mini. Both the Kindle Fire and the Nexus 7 are priced at $199 for an 8GB style. Google also has a $249 16GB option, however the allure of a Google device goes beyond its price. Some of the characteristics early fanatics are enthusiastic about include: * Cpu: 1.3GHz quad-core Tegra 3 * Weight: .75 lbs * Thickness: .41' * Operating system: Jelly Bean/android 4.1 with improved voice recognition and responsiveness * Screen: Vibrant HD display * Pixels: 1280X800 (216 ppi) * Memory space: 8GB or 16GB * Battery: 9+ hour battery life (Some bloggers have documented up to 10 hours of battery.) * I/O: 1.2 megapixel forward facing camera, Microphone, NFC, GPS * Extras: Google NOW virtual assistant (think SIRI), Wi-Fi 802 11b/g/n, Bluetooth * Accessible: End of July * Cost: $199-$249 (Up to 30% discount with GameStop trade-in.) Nexus 7 Limitations Even though the Google tablet delivers a good deal of features specifically designed to lure those seeking a device at an affordable price, but there are few negative aspects. Of course some sacrifices can be predicted with any modestly valued tablet. Storage: Even though Google is providing each an 8GB and a 16GB model of the tablet, neither gadget includes a microSD slot, which means simply no expandable memory space. Some have complained that the lower-cost $199 8GB version will be filled after downloading merely Three to five films, suggesting that the 16gb Version may be the wiser choice. Wireless: The shortage of storage is allegedly solved by streaming media and media through Google Play & Google Drive; however without 3G / 4G cellular wireless options, the information stored in the cloud won't regularly be obtainable, which might turn into a source of frustration for anyone using their device on the fly. Media: Just like the Amazon's kindle Fire, the main purpose of the Nexus 7 is to promote users to buy things from the Google Play store; however the range of options is somewhat small in comparison. Expanding Nexus 7 Media Possibilities Nevertheless, the business does offer approximately 500,000 applications at Google Play, thousands of flicks, over 3 million free e-books & hundreds of for sale eBooks. Furthermore, millions of melodies are for sale on Google music and the business is regularly adding to its collection. In case these restricted offerings aren't adequate Nexus 7 users can easily build upon these media options by installing a Kindle e book application, Amazon Cloud music application, and many more Android-compatible apps.
