The Mummy from Loop Attachment — the creators of the wonderful Loop wristband for the sixth-generation iPod nano — is a premium silicone case for iPhone that aims to provide your handset with all-around protection while preserving its identity like the Calculator Silicone Case for Iphone 4/4s . It’s designed to leave a lot of your handset on show, so you can admire its sleek and sexy form factor, and its Apple logo, while still providing plenty of protection against scratches, scuffs, and drops. The case like the Calculator Silicone Case forIphone 4/ 4s White boasts an incredibly lightweight design that provides easy access to all your ports, buttons, and switches. Its special feature is that it allows you to slip a credit card into the back of the case so that you can grab a coffee on your way to work without taking your whole wallet. The Mummy costs $25, and it’s available in a whole range of colors — ten in total. I reviewed the Mummy’s predecessors for iPhone 4/4S, and I was a big fan, so I had high hopes for this one. I’m pleased to say that it hasn’t let me down. It’s almost exactly the same case, only it’s for a newer iPhone. Let me tell you what I love about it. The Good Firstly, the Mummy is really unique — you won’t find another silicone case for iPhone with this design, that looks this good on your handset. A lot of care has gone into its design to ensure it provides all-round protection for your iPhone while still leaving a lot of it on show. It’s also a high quality case like the Calculator Silicone Case for Apple Iphone 4/4s Yellow . The silicone’s thick, and it provides a nice, tight fit. It’s strong, so you can apply and remove it again and again without having to worry about tearing it. You can even slip sharp credit cards in and out of it and it won’t feel a thing. The silicon’s nice and soft and super smooth, and not too sticky. While it will pick up hair and bits of fluff every so often, it doesn’t attract everything, and you can comfortable slip it in and out of a pocket without too much bother. And because it’s silicone, when it does get dirty, you can wipe it over with a wet cloth or run it under a tap to clean it (ensuring you’re iPhone first, of course). I wasn’t always comfortable with this, however, because I was worried my card would scratch my iPhone’s aluminum casing. It didn’t, which is why I’m not including this point in the ‘Bad’ section below, but it might be something you’ll want to keep an eye on — particularly if you have a black iPhone that loves to be chipped and scratched. The Bad The Mummy’s thick silicone — although strong and durable — does make it a little thicker than other silicone iPhone cases such as Camera Silicone Case for iPhone 4/ 4S Deepblue . It’s not too thick, and it gives you peace of mind in knowing your iPhone’s protected, but it’s somewhat emphasized because the iPhone 5’s so thin. The other thing to bear in mind is that although the Mummy provides access to your iPhone’s Lightning connector, it doesn’t leave it a whole lot of room. Some accessories , such as Apple’s 30-pin-to-Lightning adapters, won’t play nicely.
