Android has made superb progress since 2005 when Google purchased a relatively unknown company called Android Inc. Finally there is the essential aspect of variety. With an iPhone you are tied to one unit, not great if you would like to express oneself. The Blackberry targets business people and the designs are not even close impressing. In contrast because the Android Mobile Phone is a open source operating system which you can use without royalties, many major cell phone manufacturers are coming up with Android based smartphones.
