Tourists flock to London in large numbers every day in order to see the various London attractions that cover all fields of life such as history, culture, science and commerce. London has always had that magical appeal that draws tens of thousands of tourists from all over the world to this classic city. Whether it is for its culture, art, architecture, history, monuments or its technologically advanced London attractions such as the London Eye, this city has a lot to offer to its tourists. Its historic reputation denotes each step of human development and cultural heritage. The following attractions are the most famous ones among many others. Buckingham Palace Constructed at the start of the 18th century, this world famous abode of British monarchy is an epitome of regal history where many monarchs have lived. Thousands of people gather outside the palace to see the mid morning changing of the guard which is a spectacular and unique event. Hyde Park One of the must-visited London attractions is the Hyde Park which has lush green meadows where visitors and their families can relax, have a picnic, indulge in various activities such as walking, jogging and horse riding. Tourists can also enjoy swimming, rowing and boating in the Serpentine Lake that is located inside the park. Hyde Park is close to Central London and many hotels and restaurants. Tourists enjoy taking a stroll to Achilles Statue and Diana Memorial Fountain. Madame Tussauds At Madame Tussauds, visitors can mingle with the rich and famous people down the ages, though only in their wax forms. Wax replicas of some of the most famous personalities from all walks of life such as sports, movies, and politics have been put together in the rooms of this most innovative museum. Victoria and Albert Museum At this world-famous museum, tourists can see renaissance paintings, old photographs, textiles and sculptures. The grand tour of this awe-inspiring museum will leave even the fittest tourist sapped of energy. The nearby Natural History Museum and Science Museum are also interesting and educative places to visit. Tate Modern Nearly 4.5 million visitors go to Tate Modern, which is England’s national art gallery every year to see the art collections that have been collected from all over the world. It is the most visited art gallery in the world. It was established in 2000 and it has four categories of collections. Shakespeare's Globe Although the original theatre, that was a commemoration to William Shakespeare, the most famous English poet and dramatist, was completely demolished in 1644 after a fire accident in 1613, the modern Shakespeare’s Globe was created on the south bank of the River Thames. Audiences come to the theatre all through the year where plays are staged in the day and evening hours and where artists can interact with them. London Transport Museum Established in 1980 in Covent Garden, the London Transport Museum signifies the transport heritage of the capital city. Open on all days for the public, it is basically a storage site and has over 370,000 items of different collections. The items that are displayed include buses, trolleybuses, trams and rails from 19th and 20th century. Even tubes have been displayed at the Acton exhibitions. There are many other London attractions that tourists to London can see and appreciate. London is full of interesting tourist destinations that attract tourists from all over the world in large numbers. They generally prefer to stay in hotels that are located near the main London attractions.
