Cancer is one of the cruelest diseases that have affected a large number of people all over the world. There are various types of cancer including the bowel cancer. People of more than 60 years are generally victims of bowel cancer. Even though the precise cause behind this cancer is still unknown but a number of factors can make a person prone to this disease. According to the doctors and the researchers the major cause of this disease is improper diet containing large quantities of animal proteins and fats. Also the people who take law fiber diet and consume high amount of alcohol are more likely to develop this disease. The studies also state that there are 5 to 10 percent chances that this disease can be inherited. Bowel Cancer Treatment and Symptoms Bowel cancer is likely to spear across the different parts of body, once started. Treatment of bowel cancer is done depending upon the cancer stage and position of cancer. An early detection of the disease makes the treatment a bit convenient and easier. A number of ways till now are available to treat this disease including surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormonal and targeted therapy etc. Most of the people opt for surgical treatment, however if the cancer has reached other parts of the body like from bowel to lymph nodes etc, there are possibilities of the recurrence of the disease even after the surgery. Due to this, chemo and radiotherapy is recommended by many doctors and therapists. Colorectal cancer is the other name for bowel cancer. Some of the common symptoms of bowel cancer are as follows: • Weakness and fatigue, • Disproportionate weight loss, • Abdomen Swelling, • Blood or mucus in the excrement, • Persisting constipation or diarrhea, • Altered bowel habits Naturopaths have also been looking for effective Bowel Cancer Treatment and these kinds of treatments are gaining more popularity these days due their efficiency to remove the disease entirely from the body. Diagnosing the Bowel Cancer Diagnosing the cancer correctly is imperative to learn how severe the disease is and in determining what would be the effective plan of action. The diagnoses of bowel cancer can be done in three steps which are mentioned below: The First test is known as Barium Enema in which the x-ray of the large bowel is sent through a mixture of the barium and air. Any irregularities can be noticed effectively by the doctor with this test. Another test involves pumping of air and a tint camera into the bowel along with a light in order to observe any defect. This test is also known as sigmiodoscopy. This test can be a little inconvenient however it is not painful at all. The final test is called Colonoscopy which makes use of a device called colonoscope. This test can be taken by the patient under anesthesia. It is used to view the entire length of the bowel. The instrument has a long and flexible tube that enters the bowel and also has a camera and light for the visuals. It is an easy way to observe any irregularity or swelling in the body.
