In Europe, Spain ranks as 5th basing on the population while in extension, the country ranks 3rd. the mountain ranges are five in number and can be seen all across the country. The landscapes in Spain are different from each other. Some look like deserts, some green and very fertile while others are coastal. The coasts stretch from Gibraltar to Pyrenees along the Mediterranean Sea. History in Spain is quite extensive. There are many indications of early inhabitation in the region though it is not clear who the initial inhabitants were. Over the years, many other countries invaded Spain trying to make it their territory. Most of these people left a lot of architectural work and monuments that still stand to date. It is this legacy that attracts many people to Spain today. There are also many regions that have been named as world heritage sites by UNESCO. These also attract their share of tourists to Spain. Tourism in Spain started when the other regions in Europe realized how warm it was in the country. They therefore started leaving their countries when the temperatures were unbearably low and chose to spend time in the warmer region where the weather was fair.
