Western Kilimanjaro region is fairly new to the northern safarcircuit of Tanzania. Therefore, there is a multitude of attractions safari makers. Little information is available, there is no national park here and the area is a private concession type private park. This is a very special area and the border of Kenya Amoboseli park. I strongly recommend this area for a few days, if you find yourself planning a safari in Tanzania, and really want a unique, off the beaten track and experience in Africa. " Many sites offer these properties, but the West Kilimanjaro really delivers all of these features. I visited this private concession this weekend, we left Arusha, my driver and I was heading to Mount Kilimanjaro. Hour, we turned to the left Arusha and spent another 90 minutes on a very rough road. It was slow going as 4 x 4 rest slowly along the track, all the while I was wondering if all this is worth the effort. I was not sure what to expect, but had heard good reports about this new area, and therefore expects that an enjoyable experience. My heart sank, we arrived at the camp. Tents by surface layer, and it all looked very simple luxury, I was looking forward to, I'm afraid, has been greatly exaggerated. I was surrounded by African bush camp and seemed not at all. However, the camp is really built into the environment, with private tents, and all the camp is really a luxury, but hidden. Other cars were in the camp [This weekend we were the only guests], and with no other camps in the area, we were just off the beaten track, only themselves, the driver and camp staff. We arrived in time for lunch and the food was superb five-course meals in elegant surroundings. Since there were no other guests my driver / guide, who was also the Maasai joined me every meal. It turned out to be lucky, I got to know all the staff very quickly. The rest of the day I spent relaxing around the camp to take in the surroundings. Relax and get to know the local Maasai. The next day the camp guide Philemon [driver] and I joined them, and he showed us the surroundings and where to find the animals. Seeing the elephant herd against Mount Kilimanjaro in the background was many years in Eastern and Southern Africa, accent. Then we went to a large white stone that marked Kenya - Tanzania border and we stopped photographs. After that we drove across the border in and around Kenya's Amboseli National Park. That evening, as the sun waned drove into a large hill, the camp at the top. We watched the sun begins to set and then, Mount Kilimanjaro and the snow cleared around the clouds had turned pink with the setting sun, and beneath the acacia trees were silhouetted, dusk seemed to rise from the ground to the top. Then I though it gets no better than this house came from the Maasai dance and sing to the mountain - they brought the champagne, because it was to be my last night.
