What sells becomes a brand or what’s recognized is a brand. Why is it so important to be a brand- just sales, recognition or customer loyalty? Why all want to establish themselves as a brand and how to actually be a brand. If you are a company providing services to the customers, no matter if you are selling a product or offering assistance of some kind, what you need is a brand. Branding is important for all types of business. A brand is the strongest representation of the company to the customers. From the clothes we wear to the cell phones we use, everything that is trending in the market belongs to a famous brand which is successful. The Indian market is growing each day. With such growth, the competition increases. The recognition is the key to win a competition and that is what branding offers the most. The recognition, from the clients you are dealing with to the customers whom you are selling your product, everyone seems to recognize the brand. It is a thing that has been previously observed in the west, as the market associated a certain list of brands with certain brands. These brands then marketed their services and a product targeting their niche and that is how the people prioritized, which brand they wanted to follow. The same trends are to be followed by the Indian market eventually, so the Indian businesses need to build successful Indian brands. The question is how to do that. The successful branding is not all about hiring a big superstar to work in a commercial for one of your products. Because that is the screen value of that star, not your product or brand. You need to take your product up to a level that you need no superstar to advertise it, or if you do, no star has second thought advertising your brand. The first step in building a successful Indian brand is to invest in it. You can start with investing in the research. The Indian market is still fresh and there is a lot to be learnt about it. Money can be invested to find out what people want from your product and what type of branding techniques they seem to be interested in. Furthermore, you can invest in the product; come out with products that have more value for money. Use your products to target people's need. Innovate in your product. A tested and tried formula is that new is always better. See what lacks in the products that are already available in the market and add it to your product. McDonalds is the fastest growing chain of junk food restaurant in India. That is because of the innovation they brought. Introducing McAloo in the market where there is a high demand for vegetarian food is the move, which took McDonalds one-step ahead of all its competitors. The last step in building successful Indian brands is to impress. You have to surprise the people by bringing in something much unexpected. It can be a brand ambassador or something about the product that can took people by surprise. An obvious example is what Aamir Khan and Sachin Tendulkar did to Coke. Pepsi was the number one drink in India. But the way Aamir Khan and Tendulkar worked on the promotion of Coke, it became one of the bestselling brands within a short span of time.
