Located close to Sri Lanka’s Bandaranayike International Airport, Negombo is a beautiful fishing town found in the western coastal belt of the island. Sitting right on the lagoon, the town experiences the best of both sea and the lagoon. The place is the best coastal stretch in the island in terms of its views, marine experiences and succulent seafood that are abundant in this part of the country. Negombo has a lot to offer for the foreign traveller. Strips of sandy beaches blessed with warm sunshine on most days of the year with salty breeze blowing from the sea to ease the heat are part of the Negombo’s attractions. The area while renowned for its night life and partying has a strip of restaurants and eateries and pubs for both locals and tourists who enjoy the superb atmosphere. However the real attraction of Negombo is its marine life and the area is increasingly becoming popular for diving. It is also well known as a superb area to wind surf. Marawila is a great place for diving and contains the wreckage of the Royal Air force Fighter bomber which is a sight worth witnessing. A traveller can also catch a glimpse of the moray eels as well as few other creatures belonging to the sea world. The third reef is that idyalic spot for sighting of marine life with a 15-20 metres depth and an excellent diversity of sea flora and fauna. Here one would be able to witness the manta rays, even the marble rays and if one’s really lucky some dolphins who have come out here for some fun and frolic. It is impossible to miss the clusters of fearless fish that one gets to see when they take up diving to explore more of Negombo’s marine life. While some sights offer shallow waters, there are others with greater depths that require much more experience in diving. The reefs are forever haunted by myriad coloured fish including reef fish and schooling fish and many more. Negombo is famous for fabulous when it comes to hotel options and a Spa Hotel Sri Lanka sounds like too good a prospect to pass up. It indeed would be unfortunate to miss all those gloriously reviving experiences that can be undergone at the Jetwing Ayurveda Pavilions. Choose from the array of ‘pavilions’ to reside in with all modern conveniences attached to it and prepare to be pampered with some luxurious treatments at its most famous spa that offers a wealth of ayurvedic therapies. From many spas available in the country, the one belonging to this Sri Lanka Ayurveda Hotel definitely specializes in the best of therapies that are taught under the oriental methods of Ayurveda to soothe and revive your mind, body and soul.
