Walking Across the Ngorongoro and Tanzania National Parks

Travel & Tourism
This is one of several energy treks, Transverse some of the most magnificent game country of Tanzania cool and partly forested Ngorongoro Crater eerie moonscape and dry heat baking soda lake Rift Valley. These treks usually include visits, some or all of the National Parks in Lake Manyara National Park, Tarangire National Park, but all tours begin with a game veiwing safari across the Ngorongoro crater. Suitable for pedestrian statistics small Maasai village lying just below the Olmos crater Ngorongoro Crater Highlands heart. From this village is a short walk to Empaakai craters. From here begins the trek to the main part of the lake soda seriously.

Because these treks have become popular several alternatives are now available: The first is to relax the shadows ÑGAR Sir camping and visited Soda Lake itself. Temperatures here can often exceed 40 ° C - some animals can survive here and here, "Flamingo" has become adept to the harsh conditions and the lake, their homes, nests cheese surface mounds where slightly cooler air prevents the eggs are hard boiled.

Only the second choice is a hard slog upward active volcano Ol Donyo Lengai, 2878m (9650ft), in the heart of Maasai country, and is considered a sacred mountain of local residents. Since the European Council Looking to the north is hot barren salt flats of Lake Soda stretching into the distance, not only lies in the Kenyan border. In the southern stretch of the Ngorongoro Crater Highlands. Good day, to the east is the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro and to the west of Great Rift Valley forest on steep slopes. Physically just climb, climb a sheer cliff and feet are unstable and break apart. There are no mount and sun shade is very important. Climb is not for the faint heart.

Like clockwork every seven years Lengai erupts and plumes of smoke billow from the crater. At other times it is possible to walk to the edge of the crater lava.

Tanzania's premiere wildlife sanctuary, the Serengeti National Park, which is the oldest game reserve area. Safari Serengeti National Park is a highlight of wildebeest migration, where million of these animals to cross the river look for better grazing. You will see a huge colorful lions, elephants, beautiful giraffes, zebras unique and much more. You might want to have lunch at the Hippo Pool, where you can eat with both hippos and crocodiles - not at the same table, though!

The third option is a short walk to Sero dramatic river ÑGAR source which provides welcome relief from the hot plains that surround the lake soda. Return drive passes Engaruka ruins. Make time to explore the 15th century living room with stone single integrated humidifier and complex agricultural systems consisting of several villages.

It is important that the equipment needed for a hike across the Ngorongoro light day pack with you, it's hard pair of hiking boots, sun hats offer protection of the neck, sunglasses, sunscreen, water bottle, solid pants or shorts and a t-shirt made of a light material (if wearing shorts take long socks or light (preferably) canvas gaiters). Walking poles or two would be useful Lengai rises.
