In an earlier article, we examined the numerous benefits that continuity or recurring income provides, and why you should build such continuity or recurring income into your online businesses as soon as you can. Instead of needing to produce, say, three to five new articles every week, week after week to maintain a traditional membership site, all you need is one article, say, each week for a defined period of time. Other benefits of running a fixed-term membership site include: 1) They can be set up in 48 hours, maybe even less. All you need to get started is one simple sales page, one article which is your first week's 'lesson', one simple download page, one recurring billing processor (which can be Clickbank or Paypal) and one autoresponder. This definitely isn't a "sometime in the future" wish - you can make it happen and set up your own membership site taking orders this week. 2) Fixed-term membership sites keep subscribers active for longer. Why? Because, with a traditional membership site there is no ending point, or - given the London 2012 Olympics - finish line. Membership just continues, hopefully on and on, potentially long after the subscriber has lost interest and moved on to other subjects. In contrast, with a fixed-term membership site, there is an ending ... after X weeks or months, the subscriber will have completed the series or course and will no longer pay. Also important is the fact that once the subscriber has completed the series or course, he or she will no longer feel under pressure to absorb any new content. So, do you see how fixed-term membership sites can provide you with even more benefits while maintaining the great beauty of continuity income - the eighth wonder of the world?
