Are you eagerly awaiting that college entrance examination to get you to the university of your dreams? We know how important it is to you. Not to mention your parents and loved ones. Entering a reputable university is a lot like taking that big step towards your future. Taking a college entrance exam is definitely life-changing. You can almost see yourself about 5 years from now. Imagining finishing college and landing that dream job. But lest we forget, the amount of preparation you make prior to taking that exam and during the exam itself can spell the big difference. Let me share with you some tips on how you can ace that test of your life. 1. Take review classes. I definitely believe this is a must! Review classes allow you to re-learn and learn things you might have missed in school. This is not saying that regular classes are not enough. But then it is about re-enforcing what you know already. Discussions during the review can let you look at things in a different perspective. Plus, the fact that being with people who share the same goal with you, that is passing the test, keeps you motivated. 2. It pays to schedule your to-do list. Have a plan. Create a schedule and follow it. The subjects that need reviewing, the book or resources that you might need, the pacing that you must follow. There are a lot of ways to do things, but having a plan helps you do things more systematically. 3. Be resourceful. Research on topics that seem unfamiliar and make sure you get additional data. Online resources are very much available, and accessible. Plus your review facilitator can provide you all the necessary help. 4. Prior to 3the exam date, get a break. This may seem ironic, but trying to do a review on the day prior to the exam might not help. It can even confuse you at times. Make sure you relax yourself and get that much-needed break. It will help you keep a fresh attitude and relieve yourself of that unnecessary stress. Don’t dare look at review manuals. Give your brain cells a break! Remember, on the exam day itself, it will be bombarded with a lot of questions. 5. Prepare everything you need prior to your exam date. Your pen, your eyeglasses (if you use any), even the clothes you wear – make sure they make you feel comfortable. Grab a bite before the exam begins. A full stomach definitely helps. You don’t want to feel dizzy in the middle of your test, would you? 6. Most entrance examinations have multiple choice questions. A trick you can do is to eliminate the wrong answers first. That way, it’ll be easier to figure out the correct one. Questions may be a bit tricky, of course they were designed to be that way, but eliminating the odd balls first make finding the correct one easier. An educated guess can also help if push comes to shove. And I mean, an educated and intelligent one. Review classes allow you lots of practice on this, and I mean a lot.
