Every year more and more movies are being shot in the City of Vancouver. Relatively low prices, wonderful exteriors, quite affordable movie staffs and film studios eager to assist and help tend to draw major film production companies from Hollywood and often even from European countries. And this current movie trend doesn’t particularly apply to Vancouver, but we can easily find a lot of popular films being shot here in Canada – for example in the City of Toronto or Calgary. So If you have lately seen men running through the streets of Vancouver equipped with various filming gear like boom-microphones or huge reflective aluminum boards that make actors' skin look so beautiful in movies, there is a pretty good chance you witnessed the filming of such blockbusters as X-Men Origins: Wolverine (starring Hugh Jackman), Twilight Saga (starring Robert Pattison and Kristen Stewart), I, Robot (starring Will Smith) or Fantastic Four (starring Jessica Alba). Movie industry considerably helps Vancouver economy and also Vancouver real estate market as production companies tend rent out whole buildings or in some cases even entire street blocks.
