Rumors are flying and word is that Microsoft and their new products are the player to keep an eye on this fall. With the announcement of their windows 8 phone as well as their tablet the Surface Mobile enthusiasts are going crazy. Windows has been used in homes and in general has been the OS of choice for just about everyone. Microsoft has been playing the OS game for years and when they decided to move to the mobile world they took everyone by surprise. We are going to talk about these two fantastic devices and why you should be watching them. The Windows Phone 8 was very recently announced and is heralded as the most advanced OS Microsoft has made yet, and to top that off we will be getting it in Microsoft phones this year. The new components and features that users as a whole will receive are simply fantastic. We are going to go over some of these features now. The Mobile OS is very closely related to the Windows 8 OS and this is for a good reason. Computer, phone, and tablet all share common security, media, networking, and web browsing technology. This means we get better performance, more features, and app developers can work faster. The OS is more than able to run on a single processor but can support multiple. This not only means that older models can run the phone but it also hints that it is ready for whatever hardware is thrown at it. Windows Phone 8 has access to NFC wireless sharing. This is an emerging function in phones that allows users to share things over short distances such as photos, office documents, and even contact information all with a simple tap. Internet Explorer 10 and all of its new functions will be added into the lineup of awesome technology in the Windows Phone 8. This means we get faster, more secure browsing as well as the new SmartScreen Filter. The new digital wallet feature is promising to be astonishing to say the least. Capable of keeping debit and credit cards, coupons, boarding passes, and many other important information right there at your phone. Mix that in with the new secure SIM you can even pay for things by taping your phone against compatible checkout counters. The Windows App Market is booming as well, it just hit 100,000 apps recently. This is especially exciting as with an increase of 200 apps per day it is rising faster than android did at its release. One of the things holding the phone back before was its lack of an app market but that is no more. Look out for this phone as it hits the public. Next up we have the new Windows 8 tablet, the Surface. This thing is 9.3mm thick and weighs around 1.3lbs. Built around an angled, all magnesium VaporMG case and an ARM chip powering the whole device this thing is rather amazing. They really went all out with a built in stand, twin MIMO wifi antenna, and a magnetic attached cover that is for much more than just protection. This cover doubles as a touch keyboard and track pad. It comes with HDMI, a microSD, and USB 2.0 as well as either 32GB or 64GB of storage. Working hand in hand with NVidia, Microsoft is pushing for the creation of a new Metro style app and device experience that with simply be mind blowing. Mobile developers from all over are getting excited and will have to factor in this emerging tech when they make their apps. It will be very interesting to see where their ideas, dreams, and plans will lead us in the near future. We are quickly moving into what many think of as futuristic and it is exciting. These devices are super exciting and the fact is Mobile app development is hard pressed to keep up with the technology. This is very exciting for user and developer alike. The amount of expansion that is allowed for in these, already staggering, devices is unique and will have everyone on their toes. The integration between windows devices is just the icing on the cake but has many individuals excited for it alone. Windows has been on the down low for a while now and now that they have emerged we can plainly see why. The new tech from them that is both for Mobile products and beyond is impressive. The deserve a round of applause at their innovation and will certainly be setting competitors on their toes.
