This is the Mobile Age and it is booming. We are developing new and improving technologies based on mobile applications and devices at such a rapid rate that a frequent complaint is you buy a device and it is outdated in a month. There is always something new and shocking being developed and the can range from the anticipated “Google Project Glass” to a way to mount even more processors into a mobile device. These advancements can be as simple as increased shutter speed on a camera to a brand new phone that simply blows everything else away. All of these have an impact on the future of mobile technology and every one of them is important. We are going to cover three advancements that are simply mind blowing. First of we have what is described as a touch screen with keys that rise and disappear. What this means is that there is a tactile layer added to a product that will make patterns or shapes that rise and recede out of a normal touch screen or touch based interface. This piece of tech was thought up when the iPhone first made its appearance and people were reluctant to move away from their keypads. This technology is said to make its first public appearance by mid-2013 and could very well change the world of mobile devices. The applications are endless; from smartphones and tablets to medical devices and personal navigation systems. It creates very real buttons that disappear seamlessly into the screen when not in use. This video demonstrates the technology and how it came to be. Next we have a mobile phone that is unprecedented. Four of the biggest tycoons in the mobile phone world have brought their expertise and specialties together to create a phone that will revolutionize our view of smartphones. The Google Nexus Ultima is awe inspiring. A steel frame with Kevlar and a bullet proof glass touch screen come together to create this fantastic design from HTC. Also from HTC is a 16MP camera with their top of the line ImageSense. Motorola is bringing in the internal gears, chips and such that make the phone what it is. Their stability and solid tech will be given to this monster of a phone. From Samsung and LG we have a 5” Super AMOLED FHD+ display. Samsung alone added in Exynos ARM15 quad core processor. All of this will be tied together with at least Android Jellybean but it is rumored that we might see Key Lime Pie, and its waterproof! This may not be the end all be all of phones, but this will certainly raise the bar more than a few notches. It was said that Steve Jobs was going to change how medical professionals administer care, and for the most part no one gave it a thought. The reality is that mobile healthcare or “mHealth” as it has been deemed, is pushing the boundary and is transforming not only the physician-patient interactions, but is hitting how consumers treat their own wellbeing. Right now, around 30% of physicians are using smart phones or tablets to treat patients and that number is growing. Mobile Applications such as FitBit help users log workouts, meals, and weight. This makes things easier, much less daunting, and frankly more appealing. It lets you know how much you can eat at each meal and shows you your progress in your weight loss. In a world where an attending physician may not have a proper diagnosis for a possibly fatal but easily treatable illness, finding out how to help you is just a few clicks away. Medical References don’t replace a physician’s know how but they do supplement and offer a knowledge base that will simply save lives. This will help remote places such as China, Haiti, and Kenya to have the best possible patient care even when top notch medical education is simply not available. A simple Mobile Application is able to increase the function of physicians in a hospital by allowing fast response to a nurse or patients need without being right there. This speeds up check-ins and check-outs as well as the speed at which medication is delivered when needed. For more information on this look here. The simple fact is that Mobile Technology is our future. We are seeing ideas and devices that many have only dreamed of. Every day new ideas are being thought up, and like never before these ideas are becoming possible. Who would have thought that we would have buttons that pop up out of a touch screen, or even goggles that create an interactive world just before your eyes? At Moro Interactive, we turn ideas into a reality every day. We are doing are part to create a future where anything is possible.
