Although the wet season had officially started, the weather in Luzon today has not changed since summer. And according to PAGASA, Luzon will generally experience fair weather up until the end of the month, with isolated rain showers across the northern part of the country.
A Fine Weather by PAGASA Except for some occasional rains, expect the weather throughout Luzon to improve in the coming days. Tropical storm “Carina” swirled through the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) for a few hours Wednesday night before exiting and dissipating, weather forecasters said on Thursday.
The storm, the third cyclone to enter PAR, induced moderate monsoon rains over the western section of northern Luzon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
However, the storm only passed across the Philippine Area of Responsibility with little storm that it can spare to Luzon. And according to PAGASA, Luzon will experience fair weather the rest of the month.
Summer Weather in the Wet Season According to latest Philippines Weather news, Luzon, including the capital, will experience partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, said weather observer Ben Oris of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
Some parts of the Visayas will be partly cloudy with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, while the rest will be mostly cloudy with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Mindanao will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy, with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest to south will prevail over northern and Central Luzon and coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the southwest to west with slight to moderate seas.
Chance of Rain According Philippines News Today, a shallow low pressure area spotted 180 kilometers east of Mindanao dissipated at noon Saturday. Another low pressure area was spotted east of Bicol, but it was still outside the Philippine area of responsibility, forecasters said.
On an average, about 20 cyclones cross the archipelago every year. So far, three cyclones have entered the Philippine area of responsibility this year, the last being Tropical Storm Carina, which entered the northwestern section Wednesday night but stayed only briefly. It induced monsoon rain over the western section of Northern Luzon.
